Armstrong’s took possession of a massive 130kg wild halibut which measured eight feet long and four feet wide. Caught of the Scottish North Atlantic coast this fish was the bounty of the Scottish trawler, Aquarius.
Due to the size of the fish it won’t be filleted but cut into big halubut loins:
“I’ve been a fishmonger for 35 years and I have never seen a halibut this size. I’ve done big fish before but this is off the scale. It’s the biggest Scottish fish I have ever seen.
Gary, Armstrong’s Manager
This is another in a long line of large halibut bought by the shop. In July 2017 the shop bought a 104kg fish and in 2014 a 51kg halibut. This catch trumps them all.
It’s the biggest Scottish fish I have ever seen, it’s absolutely massive.”
Gary, Armstrong’s Manager
